About CIOB

The competition is run by the Chartered Institute of Building. We stand for the science, ethics and practice of the built environment across the world. Everything we do is to improve the quality of life for those using and creating the built environment.

The Chartered Institute of Building

From the first group of Master Builders coming together in 1834, to our board of trustees today, we’ve always set and upheld the standards for our industry to meet. We have a role in the management, leadership, education and development of our industry. For our members, guiding and educating them as they embark on their careers. For policymakers, defining the standards for all to meet. For the public, creating an environment they can live and work in safely, comfortably and confidently.

Academy

The CIOB Academy provides CIOB members with training courses and CPD opportunities covering a wide range of topics related to construction and the built environment. These resources are designed to help those in construction or new to the industry develop practical skills and further their careers.

Student Membership

Student membership is CIOB’s entry point to membership for those who are either studying full-time or part-time, alongside employment. Student membership gives you instant access to resources that will support your transition to a worthwhile career.

We welcome students from around the globe and from a wide range of disciplines including construction, architecture, engineering, environment, design conversation and many more.
