The Australian Government has stated that all people (citizens or visitors) to Australia will be required to self-isolate for 14 days on arrival. There is no end date to the declaration. The decision has therefore been made by CIOB that we will not be travelling to Sydney this year. The safety and wellbeing of you, our members and staff has to take priority, and I am sure you will all agree this is the best decision for all involved.
The good news is because Global Student Challenge is an online platform we will still be running the competition but we are reviewing with the owners of the MERIT platform how best to enable the finals to work virtually. We will be in touch with you soon to outline how this will work.
In the meantime we have received some questions & concerns around teams working together throughout the phases of the competition.
We would like to remind you that team members do not have to be in the same room to play. The software has been created so that multiple people can access the same data file at the same time, from any location around the world on any device that has a web browser. All you need is internet connectivity and a means to talk to each other.
Part of the game itself is learning to communicate through different mediums and the platform has been designed to improve networking through the respective company you create.
